![]() Let this review serve as a warning that once you subscribe, you are locked in for life. I was told that the original subscription agreement warned of some "loss of functionality" upon non-renewal, but there is nothing more specific mentioned to give potential buyers an idea of Intuit's penalty tactics if you choose not to renew the subscription because of product failures. After talking to two supervisors,, both were abrupt and unhelpful, stating there was no way to remove the banners without paying the subscription price. When the banners failed to disappear, I called to ask how to remove them. Because the banners block the screen, several more keystrokes are required during every transaction to complete them. Neither banner contained a "dismiss" or "X-out" button, only a button saying "RENEW". Shortly before the expiration date of my subscription, two huge "reminder banners" appeared on my screen blocking nearly a quarter of the computer screen. And they are entirely shameless about it.Īfter the product failed to download my transactions properly from my broker, I chose not to renew my subscription. Every release introduces more bugs, but they make it impossible to freeze a particular version, constantly cutting off web access and they have Upgrade Nags constantly that you can't get rid of. I myself have had to purchase 7 versions of the program since 2000 and that's BEFORE they moved to a subscription model. They purposely obstruct you from transferring to their competitors. It's normally a 40-minute queue to talk to an idiot and they are so propaganda driven, that they delete any negative posts or reviews from their sites and their forum. Their customer support is an absolute joke. When working properly, it provides a lot of value, but it is very easy to introduce errors into the data and impossible to fix them. They do not use Windows conventions, for example keystrokes. There are bugs still there that have been there since the 90's. Their current subscription model is no different. Quicken has only three extra costs and fees that users should be aware of, including two bill pay options and a backup disc purchase option. ![]() Starting at 9.95/month (Starter and Deluxe plans only) Backup disc. The Quicken business model is and always has been exploitive and has been adding and subtracting features for years in an attempt to always have a new product to sell. Starting at 9.95/month (Starter and Deluxe plans only) Generate check payments to any US address. ![]() I've been using Quicken since 1992 and consider myself quite familiar with the package. ![]()
